🚓 NC04 Beat Team Weekly Round-Up 🚓

It's been another busy week for the NC04 Beat Team, with officers, PCSOs and partner agencies working together to keep our communities safe;

👮‍♂️ Proactive Drugs Operation

Today, officers are taking part in a passive drugs dog operation aimed at tackling drug dealing and reducing the harm caused by illegal drugs in our communities. The operation has already resulted in a number of stop searches, with drugs seized, offenders dealt with appropriately, and valuable intelligence gathered to support ongoing policing activity.

🎓 Supporting Students

PC Ellis and PCSO Donna have been visiting student accommodation sites including The Tannery, Merlin Heights and Lumia Living to welcome students to Leicester. The visits were a great opportunity to introduce local neighbourhood officers, provide personal safety advice and share information about how to report crime, concerns and anti-social behaviour.

⚡ Keeping Skills Current

PC Dean has been undertaking essential Taser refresher training this week, ensuring officers maintain the skills required to respond effectively and safely when faced with challenging situations.

🚔 Wanted Offender Arrested

PC Elliot has been working proactively across the beat area and successfully arrested a wanted individual who was subject to two court warrants. The offender has since been presented before the courts. The individual was also of interest to Immigration Enforcement, highlighting the importance of partnership working between agencies.

🤝 Addressing Anti-Social Behaviour

PCSO Hannah has been leading work to tackle anti-social behaviour on Highcross Street, where concerns have been raised regarding individuals openly using drugs in public. Beat officers and PCSOs have supported this work through regular patrols, engagement with local businesses, and direct conversations with those involved to discourage this behaviour and reduce its impact on the wider community.

🚲 Bike Registration and Community Engagement

PCSO Donna, alongside colleagues, has delivered a number of bike registration events this week, helping residents protect their property and reduce the risk of cycle theft. She also worked with Leicester City Council at the Open Streets event, offering bike registration services and engaging with members of the public throughout the day.
